Clyde Cottage
A photo of Clyde House from the Oren W. Hills collection. During the 1890s, when this photo was taken, Clyde House was known as Clyde Cottage. A small sign with that name is hanging over the 2nd floor window. Sometime after this photo, the house was expanded on its left side. The house behind Clyde House no longer exists, nor does the lawn and gazebo on its right side. To the right of Clyde House is now a parking lot. Clyde House is now a rooming house for foreign student employees of the Half Moon Enterprises.
Photos of Clyde House and Story’s Tavern taken in 1887 (first photo) and circa 1897 (second photo). Notice how the later Story’s Tavern has changed. The gable, inside of a straight angle to the peak, has two angles; also, a second staircase from the street has been added.
Clyde House is located next to #12 on the Weirs Beach parking map. This is a 2008 photo of Clyde House.
