The Lakeview House was built in the early 1880s. Below is a review of the house from the 1899 book The Illustrated Laconian. The Lakeview House is still accommodating travelers today.

A 1940’s postcard. The view is actually from a neighboring property, looking across Tower Street at the entrance stairs to the Lakeview. A couple of Half Moon cabins can be glimpsed through the trees, downhill from the Lakeview.
