July 4th 1895 Celebration
The July 4th holiday in Weirs Beach in 1895 was packed full of events, with band concerts, a baseball match, amateur sports contests, a fire extinguisher demonstration, all-day dancing, and fireworks. Reduced railroad fares were offered, a special train was run from Woodsville, or you could come by way of the lake, as “All Steamboats run to Weirs”.
