A color photo of the Half Moon Tea Room circa 1930, when it was located at #361 Lakeside Avenue, next to the wooden Centenary Avenue bridge. In 1931, Bob Wagner moved the Tea Room down the street to form the core of his new Half Moon block at the center of town. The 1936-1984 Weirs Beach fire station was then built on the empty lot where the Tea Room had stood. The fire station is now a private home.

Inexpensive color photography for still cameras did not exist until the advent of Kodachrome film in 1936, but the Tea Room was moved from this location circa 1931, so how this color picture was taken is unknown.

The original Half Moon Tea Room was not only a diner, it was also a gas station that sold Texaco brand gasoline.  In this circa 1927 photo of the gasoline station, Bob Wagner is on the left. The gas station was expanded, and became the Half Moon Tea Room.
