Dear Student:
We would like to clarify the hourly wage that students will be paid.
In our listing and our letter of information, we stated that students would be paid an hourly wage of $9 an hour, with tips depending on the position scheduled.
The pay scale is the same whichever type of job the student is assigned.
Arcade attendants, bumper car attendants, car park attendants, cashiers, counter persons, cooks, hosts and hostesses, housekeepers and front desk clerks, kitchen assistants, groundskeepers, poolkeepers, ice cream scoopers, sales clerks and stock clerks are all paid the same wage of $9 an hour.
Waitresses and waiters are paid $3.50 an hour. However, they are guaranteed a wage of at least $9 an hour. Their actual hourly income depends on their tips. If their combined wage and tip income does not average $9 an hour, we will make up the difference. (Waitstaff usually earn well over the $9 minimum.)
The only other tipped positions are ice cream scoopers and housekeepers.
Records are kept that enable our payroll accountant to pay the correct hourly wage. These hourly wages are paid on a weekly basis.
We hope this clarifies the situation with regard to students pay. We hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Robert E. Ames
